Additions and renovations to an existing surgical and ophthalmologic manufacturing
plant. The administrative offices, employee service amenities and warehouse spaces
were specifically designed to support two new 12,000 square feet clean rooms (Class
10,000) for the production and assembly of ophthalmologic surgical kits. The project
was designed and constructed in two phases, allowing for continuous operation
during the expansion and renovation process. The A / E Team worked very closely
with the project's Materials Handling Engineer on the design and planning to allow for
efficient movement and warehousing of materials. In addition, the facility's existing
air-cooled HVAC system has been converted to chilled water, including a cold water
thermal storage system.
