Oak Forest Elementary

Oak Forest Elementary School is a replacement school for an existing out-dated
facility. The new building is designed with three classroom wings allowing natural light
into most classrooms. Classrooms are supplemented with numerous informal
instructional areas. At the “heart” of the school is the Media Center with space for
24,000 volumes, computer based media plus Internet access, storytelling and leisure
reading. Two courtyards serve to separate the quieter instructional areas from the more
active areas of Music, Multi-purpose/Dining and Administration. This computer systems
used in the school are equipped with upgradeable technology. Careful planning has
also gone into the site design to facilitate peak traffic at drop-off and pick-up times.
